City Energy Savings and Special Rebate Programs

An important energy savings opportunity for cities and their businesses.

City facility managers seek to reduce energy costs beyond the conventional type projects, such as lighting retrofits, and seek to qualify for major rebates from the utilities or from special programs. There are significant opportunities to further reduce energy costs with the latest advances of emerging technologies and there are special rebates that often pay up to 300% of the standard utility rebate. EIG has developed a unique program to guide you to take advantage of these opportunities.

The city can typically reduce energy costs 10% to 30% beyond commonly used energy measures for city buildings. Paybacks typically average 24-36 months. Projects can be completed with no cash outlay. EIG coordinates all projects to free your staff from any major resource commitment.

Taking advantage of the possibilities

  1. Arrange for EIG to meet City Manager for policy meeting
  2. EIG develops program with city public works or general services
  3. EIG provides no-cost facility reviews and a technology opportunity report of savings, cost, rebates, and no-capital outlay options
  4. EIG fully coordinates approved projects
  5. Turnkey program minimizes requirements of your staff

A strategy for cities to assist businesses to reduce energy cost

Cities can provide information through their websites and printed literature of the City's energy program as an example of opportunities that are available to businesses in the city. Businesses can use this information to identify opportunities in their facilities to significantly reduce their energy costs and take advantage of available rebates.

The typical city program may encompass the following:

  • EIG prepares communications for city email, newsletter, or direct mail
  • EIG prepares city website material of energy savings and rebate opportunities
  • EIG develops energy news articles for city publications
  • EIG arranges and handles city sponsored energy program breakfast meetings

The simple 3-step EIG process to assist businesses in the city:

  1. For those businesses that request information, EIG identifies opportunities to use the latest technologies in their facilities.
  2. EIG prepares an Opportunity Report of potential savings from these technologies, available rebates, and financial options.
  3. EIG coordinates projects from inception through completion, securing rebates, arranging financing, documenting savings, and commissioning.

EIG Compensation

There is no fee to a city or company for EIG services. EIG receives a special level of compensation from manufacturers that contract with EIG to expand their product's visibility in the market.
