Globalight designs were developed for a wide range of electronic and electromagnetic fluorescent lighting as well as HID applications.

Different Globalight models are used for indoor, outdoor and street lighting fluorescent or HID applications or for lighting panels with a combination of fluorescent and HID loads. Globalight works with EMS, sensors, and timers. Globalight has a one year warranty.

Globalight units are installed at the lighting panel and can be designed to fit into most equipment rooms or can work from remote locations. Units range in size from 24x20x9 and can be used on lighting panels with as small as a 5 kW load.

Some key Globalight features are: automatic bypass, which is essential to protect the unit and lighting system in the event of serious disruptions in the line; the smooth and continuous reduction of power to reach the programmed savings level, compared to an instant drop of voltage or the use of a series of relays to produce the voltage reduction; and voltage stabilization to avoid the damaging effects of significant voltage fluctuations on the line.

The graph at right illustrates use of 29.17 kW with Globalight in ‘savings’ mode at the UCDMC Parking Garage. When taken out of savings mode, as shown at graph center, the power use increases to 41.45 kW, for a 30% reduction of power in the ‘savings’ mode.
